Welcome to the homepage for the University of Regina Debate Society! The U of R Debate Society is a campus club dedicated to furthering the speaking and critical analysis skills of U of R students. We will be holding debate practices throughout the coming year, where members will become comfortable with public speaking, learn debate strategy, and how to streamline their arguments with their partner's. All of this will culminate in UR Debate clubs' teams competing at debate tournaments hosted by partner universities throughout the year. Take a moment to explore the website, and check out the resources we have to offer. If you are interested in debating, come out to a practice and give it a try! We welcome both experienced and inexperienced debaters. Check the EVENTS section for practice times, or contact Chris Riviere at president@uofrdebate.com for more information. The University of Regina Debate Club is a student run, not for profit, University of Regina campus club. UR Debate Club is dedicated to the cultivation of the communication and critical thinking skills of University of Regina students, regardless of faculty or program. We are committed to working closely with other university campus clubs, societies and faculties to better achieve these ends. UR Debate Club also strives to maintain a close and mutually beneficial relationship with the Regina community at large through in-kind and direct financial support. We also firmly believes in the importance of investing in the province's youth, and strives to aid in the development of their debate skills by coaching teams, running workshops and managing tournaments for Saskatchewan primary and secondary schools. |
